Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance "is a beautifully designed book by Robert M. Pirsig, author of the later work" Lila: An Inquiry into moral ". In Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, which has a part-part narrative fiction took a motorcycle trip through the trails of America during which a number of issues raised and discussed philosophical question many of the ideas we take for granted, as the fundamental way we perceive the world, be it "romantic" or "classic".
The journey grows progressively with the philosophy, interspersed with the two together to maintain the philosophy of travel is too arrogant and too heavy. Although the book can be read by those who are merely seeking a good travel history, best serves those who wish to read a little philosophy with a more traditional story.
The structure works well to keep the romance fresh at all times, with a permanent break between the narration and discussion to make a continuous play rewarding. However, this does not account for what makes the novel so great. Although structure plays an important role in the experience of readers, is how Pirsig able to present their ideas and conduct discussions and research on the philosophical dilemmas that really work to life.
There is a nice contrast between scenes of nature and debates of the philosophy in some so married another to inform others. While moments of great natural beauty were observed during the trip, they seem to complement complex philosophical debates and discussions complexes also give a sense of more meaning to natural observations. The concept of critical thinking is frequently raised and that we have is that natural observations come through an analysis underlying thought process that sees beauty in the operation of beauty intelligent rather than purely aesthetic, say, Sun
Perhaps one of the most enjoyable aspects of this novel is philosophical the same people who are looking more attractive because of their personality. The son of the protagonist child provides an examination conducted by some of the finest nuances in the debate, while the other two drivers who offer opposing views to the main character to fight. This results in many interesting dialogues between different characters dialogue that mimics the classical philosophy of Plato and Berkeley, among others.
Achievement Pirsig is the way philosophy has made interesting for the masses, while the conversion of a traditional method of philosophical writing and what is something fun to read. Dialogue philosophy has rarely been so good and not a novel has been so structured as to captivate the reader of this fund at any time. This is must reading for anyone with an inquisitive mind, or anyone who can appreciate a beautiful piece of literature.
